Fall 2011

Well, it is that time of the year...Time&Tide is out of the water, last lift-out for (hopefully) a long time! We stared sanding the bottom about three weeks ago, it is a hard, dirty job but the end is in sight! 3 Coats of sealer and 2 coats of anti fouling. Gary and I have had paint in our eyes, hair and under our fingernails....all the work is well worth it as the count-down continues to our departure.
 Getting some on
 not a drop wasted

Here are some pictures of Gary as he is putting the last bit of paint on in preparation for the anti fouling. Hopefully by this weekend she will be covered and resting through winter.

End of Summer 2011

The Summer of 2011 is fast coming to an end and we are knee deep in preparing the boat for lift-out, which is in just a few days.
This summer we spent  more time on the land than on the water. Our last summer home we decided to land camp with friends and family who we won't be able to spend time with next year.

Big events at the yacht club included CFB Trenton YC and RCAF Trenton CPS 50th Anniversary.
BIG THANK YOU to Lois Irwin for sharing the photos.

Our boat was featured in a slide show, not only the biggest boat at the club but also the only one with a bath tub, which Gary is showing off in the picture.

We also spend a great weekend anchoring in Sandy Cove as part of the annual YC anchoring weekend.

Swim-up bar?

Everyone came for a visit and Time& Tide's swim platform was under water (again) :-)

Summer 2011

We have met quite a few fellow loopers, some are on the trip of a life time and others are , like us still planning the trip. We are also spending a lot of time with friends and family this summer, getting a few camping trips in before we start our life on the water.

Nick, Gary and Christelle fishing for Gar- Pike in the flats near Belleville. They are UUUGGGLLYY!! ( The Gar-Pike)

Canada Day :  As usual this year we tied to the wall at the mouth of the Trent-Severn. George and the ladies from TJ FRIES will welcome you on this free wall as long as you purchase some thing to eat from their chip truck! I recommend the POUTINE ( a Canadian favourite) ....it can be a little rock- and- rolly  especially if the wind is south/south-west...and if their is lots of boat traffic like there was n this Canada Day due to all the firework watchers and the Bass Fishing Tournament that was held on this day. There are no cleats so you will have to tie down to a telephone pole and a few logs. It is on the Starboard side just before entering the Trent-Severn. Enter with caution but there is tons of water ....many boats also anchor here in the little bay just before the bridge.

Canada day is also our grand daughter Avery's, birthday. At 5 years old she still firmly believes that all the fireworks are just for her!

2011

We are counting the days till June 17 2012 and are getting Time&Tide ship-shape for our big adventure. So far this season we have had incredible high winds here in the Bay of Quinte. Time& Tide is so high she acts like a big old sail and when the winds got to 100km p.h she decided to take the dock and leave....fortunately the amazing people at the yacht club held her back till Gary was able to take her to a safe spot....many prayers were said that day and her are some pictures showing the force of the wind and waves crashing over the causeway...and then the safe wall tied up and cosy.
